New Delhi, June 20 (IANS) Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday slammed Union Minister Arun Jaitley for uning Facebook to break the news about Chief Economic Advisor (CEA) Arvind Subramanian’s term not getting extended.

He also took a veiled attack at Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying “Captain DeMo is fast asleep”.

The Congress also slammed the government following Subramanian’s resignation, saying the financial experts are fed up of its “economic mismanagement”.

“Ex? FM is locked in his room, breaking news on Facebook. BJP Treasurer has the keys to the Indian Economy,” said Gandhi in a series of tweets.

“The brightest flee the sinking ship, as the ‘invisible hand’ of the RSS steers it onto the rocks.

“Meanwhile, Captain DeMo is fast asleep. It’s crazy out there!”

Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala tweeted: “Financial experts of Modi government are completely fed up by its Colossal economic mismanagement, tepid economic reforms and financial anarchy.

“CEA, Arvind Subramanian’s resignation after the stepping down of Niti Aayog’s Arvind Panagriya and RBI Gov Raghuram Rajan comes as no suprise!”.

Subramanian’s term would not be extended any further as he wants to go back to the US due to family commitments, Jaitley said in a Facebook post on Wednesday.
