Bhubaneswar, Oct 7: It is likely that with the coming of Durga Puja in Odisha the ongoing showers might increase in magnitude thus spoiling the joy of Pandal-hopping in twin city.
This is because according to the local MeT officials a cyclonic circulation has been formed over the northeast Bay of Bengal which is stated to trigger rainfall in the state till October 11.
In the next 24 hours, rainfall is likely to occur in most places of Odisha with heavy showers in North of the state. This forecast is to remain as it is without having any change from Oct 8 to Oct 9. Also, heavy rainfall might also occur in Interior Odisha and North-Coastal Odisha between Oct 9 and Oct 10. But very heavy rainfall will start from Oct 11 as forecasted by the officials.
The cyclonic circulation is unlikely to turn into a low pressure as the effect of the monsoon has decreased, said Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre Director Sarat Sahu.
