Bhubaneswar, Dec 20: Clash between youth and student wing of Congress and police has turned the Rajmahal Square into a battleground today. The clash happened while they were heading towards Anant Narayan Jena, BMC Mayor’s house located at Bapuji Nagar demanding CBI probe into the murder case of Asutosh Mohanty aka Rishi as it was also alleged that Mayor had a link in this murder case.
As per sources, while the congress activists were stopped by the deployed security forces at Rajmahal Square, protestors tussled with the security forces. In this clash, Itish Pradhan, president of Chhatra Congress and Lokanath Maharathy, leader of Youth congress sustained minor injuries.
Besides that, on sagging the road blockade, the activists had to be removed from there forcefully and taken into custody
Pradhan had to be hospitalized in the capital hospital for treatment and from there he was later taken to the capital police station. However as his health condition was not good, police released him and stated that after recovery Pradhan will be summoned.
