Puri, May 2: The Rath Yatra’s second coordination committee meeting is going on at the Gopabandhu Ayurved College here from 11 am. RDC AB Ota is suppose to chair the meeting. The meeting is to review the progress of the work that had been decided to be undertaken during the the first coordination committee meeting held last month. Other than that, completion of chariots, temple rituals are also to be discussed at the meeting. Apart from this, health, drinking water facility, sanitation, roads, sewerage, electricity and law and order situation are also to be discussed. Puri MLA Maheswar Mohanty, central range IG Soumendra Priyadarshi, SJTA office bearers, Collector Arvind Agarwal and SP Sarthak Sarangi are attending the meeting.
On the other hand, the Shree Jagannath Sevayat Sammilani has strictly instructed though posters to the servitors to boycott the Rath Yatra festival this year and its coordination committee meetings. The posters have been sighted at several places near the temple and hence the servitors’ community stayed away from the first meeting of the Rath Yatra as well.
