Puri: The SJTA informed that the process to receive the prestigious UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage tag for Rath Yatra has been started.

The Nomination Dossier to apply for the prestigious tag of UNESCO has already begun informed Shree Jagannatha Temple Administration (SJTA). Recently during his Delhi tour, Dr. Arabinda Padhee, Chief Administrator of SJTA discussed about the prestigious tag with the Union Cultural Ministry.

The nomination Dossier for the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage tag for Rath Yatra will be filed soon. This would be a historical achievement for Odisha as the Rath Yatra or the world famous chariot festival witnesses crores of devotees every year. It is the only day when foreign devotees or Non-Hindu devotees get to witness the Lord as they are prohibited entry to the Shree Jagannath temple at Puri on other days.
