Ratna Bhandar Repair Work to be Interrupted From Today

Puri: The Ratna Bhandar repair work will be stalled from today for Makar Sankranti. The reparation work will resume again on January 16 according to the SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) of the State Government.

The Sunabesa of the Lords will be held on January 13 on the Pausa Purnima that is the full moon day of the Pausa month according to the Hindu calendar. “On January 14, a huge crowd of devotees is expected in the Srimandir on the occasion of Makar Sankranti. Keeping the crowd in view, the ASI has been instructed to stall the repair work,” informed SJTA chief Arabinda Kumar Padhee in a press meet. The Ratna Bhandar repair work will resume again on January 16.

On the other hand, the six-rowed queue system of darshan that was scheduled to start from January 20 has been postponed again. According to information, because of the presence of Hundi in the Natamandap the queue system of darshan has been rescheduled.  After that the queue system will start. A managing committee will be formed soon to discuss about the queue system of darshan. The Shree Jagannatha Temple Administration (SJTA) will then decide the queue system of darshan based on the recommendations of the committee.
