Bhubaneswar, Mar 7: Yesterday Parichay Foundation awarded 12 women achievers in different categories, who were selected from different parts of the country and even outside thus marking the International Women’s Day here. The women who were awarded from various fields were: Gargi Bhattacharya (social service), Namita Nayak Chopra (entertainment), Sanghamitra Pati (medical science and research), Kasturi Ray (media), Puspanjali Rao (art and culture), Rashmi Sahoo (entrepreneurs), Sarita Routray (sports), Debajani Mohanty (literature), Jyotshna Rani Dalai (field of trendsetters), Baisali Mohanty (NROs, Odissi dancer -cum -choreographer), Manini Mishra (emerging talent in entertainment) and Tech Mahindra Foundation (CSR).
Nobel Peace Prize winner and child rights activist Kailash Satyarthi attended the ceremony as chief guest and keynote speaker. Parichay held the fifth edition of Aarya Awards on Mar 6,. It is an organisation engaged in promoting Indian art and culture and bringing about economic and social upliftment of the underprivileged in urban slums and rural parts of Odisha and New Delhi. The Parichay Foundation has been organising Aarya Awards since 2012. It has also been felicitated by the President of India and recognised by the United Nations for its outstanding work.
