Puri: June 7: The much discussed ‘repair work of Jagamohana’ of Shree Jagannath Temple will begin from today. To start with, the steel sheets will be cut as per the requirement by use of a Plasma Machine. Authorities are planning to complete the Pillar Jacketing and confinement work by Deba Snana Purnima. As per the model seven pockets are to be developed with the help of stainless steel structures which need to be installed at the time of the Rath Yatra festival.
As said by the Core Committee, the four pillars and the areas above it will be strengthened using confinement. So, the major work is confinement of the stone dislodging on the western edge of the chamber. With this, Core Committee Executive Chairman, Gopal Chandra Mitra also added that a final call has been taken to remove the iron scaffolding except in weaker sections for the Snana Yatra, after consultations and discussions with senior servitors.
