Bhubaneswar, Jan 2: Yesterday the arrested Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Tapas Paul created ripples in the country’s political circle by alleging the involvement of Union Minister Babul Supriyo in the Rose Valley chit fund scam and who has tricked him into the case. He said this to the media while he was being taken on a three-day CBI remand starting from yesterday itself. He denied of having any knowledge about the links of TMC MP, Satabdi Roy and Rose Valley scam.
Later, the Bollywood singer and union minister mentioned in his tweeter page that he will soon be filing a defamation case against the TMC MP.
“I shall file a defamation case against this Crazy Man. Though I still like 2 believe that he hasn’t said this”. “I have instructed my lawyers to IMMEDIATELY initiate Defamation case against Taposh & Nandini Paul. He needs to be taught a stringent lesson”.
“Surprisingly I have no information about anyone to give to CBI. I just performed as a singer/actor. NOTHING LESS NOTHING MORE”.
Babul Supriyo tweeted.
Notably, Paul was arrested on Friday afternoon by the CBI from Kolkata after being interrogated for four hours for having alleged links with the chit fund scam. He was shifted to Bhubaneswar on Friday late on transit remand. The Special Chief Judicial Magistrate’s court of the CBI in Bhubaneswar on Saturday allowed the agency to take the Trinamool MP on a three-day remand.
