RSP observes Road Safety Week

Rourkela, Jan 19: An array of programmes were organised by Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) to observe the Road Safety Week which concluded recently. 

Road safety awareness programmes were organised at different locations of the plant by the Safety Engineering Department of RSP in collaboration with different departments as part of the week. 

An awareness Programme was organised by the Field Machinery (Maintenance) and Transport Department Departments with the help of Safety Engineering Department. 

The programme was inaugurated by ED (Projects) S Das, at FMM Department on  January 12.  

GM (Electrical) P Sahoo, DGM (Safety, Environment and Fire Services) SC Pattanaik, DGM In-charge FM(M) SC Panda, DGM Transport and many other senior officers and employees of the Department were present on the occasion. 

In the awareness programmes organised in front of ED (Works) office, FSNL site and the different gates of RSP placards were displayed, stickers were pasted on the vehicles and pamphlets & brochures were distributed to the commuters to convey the message of road safety.

The speeds of vehicles plying inside the plant were also measured using laser speed gun at different locations.   

As part of the week, programmes were also organized in the township.

 A Road Safety campaign was undertaken in association with State Police and different Schools at Bisra Chowk in which students spearheaded the campaign to spread the message of Road Safety to the commuters.

 Similarly, another Programme was organized at the Ispat English Medium School, Sector-22 on January 14. The students took out a rally holding placards and banners and raising slogans to create Road Safety awareness amongst the general public.

 A street play on Road Safety was also presented by the students of the school which was highly appreciated by one and all.

 A large number of students and teachers participated enthusiastically in both the programmes.
