Sambalpur: At least three elephants were found dead reportedly due to coming in contact with electric wires in the forests of Buramala near Ghosaramala village under Nakatideula range of Redhakhol in Sambalpur district this morning.

The forest officials reached the spot and started an operation to rescue the bodies of the elephants. After investigation it was found that the three elephants came in contact with electric wires laid as a trap for the wild boars.

Some locals who had gone for harvesting paddy noticed the elephants lying motionless. They called other villagers who then informed the Forest department about the three elephants being dead.
