Bhubaneswar, Jan 12: The Supreme Court on Tuesday asked Odisha government to relocate the students of the Jaring-based Sardar Rajas Medical College (SRMC) SRMC in three private medical colleges in the state.
The apex court asked the State government to complete the admission of the students within seven days. The court also ordered the state government to carry out the admissions within the government stipulated course fee.
Besides, it also directed the students of the government and private medical colleges not to stage any more demonstrations and posted the next hearing of the case to March 14.
Earlier, 55 students of Sardar Rajas medical college were absorbed in MKCG Medical College while 54 students were relocated to VIMSAR. Five students each were admitted in three private institutions – Hi Tech Medical College, Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) and Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS) and Sum Hospital.
But with the verdict of the apex court, all students who took admission in the two government colleges will now have to be relocated and admitted to the three private medical colleges.
