Bhubaneswar: May 24: Nursing students of SCB Medical College and Hospital today staged a protest at PMG square, Bhubaneswar demanding transfer of Principal of the School as well as withdrawal of Sine die from the campus.
They have submitted a memorandum to the state government for the second time and requested to take action against the Principal Kajal Rani Sinha immediately. Striking nursing students threatened to launch a 24×7 protest at Mahatma Gandhi Marg from tomorrow, if their demand is not considered with immediate effect. They have met the Health Minister and Health secretary on May 19 and requested to fulfil their demand, but no action has been taken so far.
Notably, the nursing students have been agitating since last 17 days protesting against ill-treatment and casteist remark made by the principal against a nursing student.
