Kolkata, March 17: The Left Front has said that the seat adjustment issue with the Congress for the upcoming Assembly election would be sorted out within a few days.

Left Front chairman Biman Bose said there were only handful of seats left where adjustment was required.

“Only a handful of seats are left where adjustment between the Congress and the Left is required. Otherwise the seat adjustment is more or less over,” Bose told a press conference.

He, however, took exception to state Congress President Adhir Chowdhury’s criticism of a section of Left allies allegedly trying to create hurdles in the path of alliance.

“I came to know from our alliance partner that state Congress president Adhir Chowdhury had made some comments about our alliance partners. I feel such kind of comments should not be made when we are talking about seat adjustment,” Bose said.

The Left Front Wednesday announced a list of eight more candidates and extended their support to two other independent candidates. Earlier, the CPI(M) in two phases had announced 199 candidates and extended support to an independent candidate.

“The present situation is unprecedented. The CPI(M) and the Left parties are travelling the untravelled path. It is an unfolding situation,” Bose observed.
