Jeypore: May 20: Usha Padhi, Joint Secretary in Ministry of Civil Aviation, officials from Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and Airports Authority of India (AAI) reviewed the infrastructure development of Jeypore Airport for operation of flights. Officials have taken stock of infrastructure development to begin the flight services under UDAN (Ude desh ka aam naagrik) scheme.
Airports Authority of India and Government of Odisha have been doing the construction work from 21016. September 2017 was the deadline for the completion of work and the state-level co-ordination & monitoring committee had decided to make it operational it by February this year. But, it is yet to be completed.
The visiting officials discussed on the issues leading to delay in completion of work. Senior officials of the team VK Bandopadhyay Additional Director, BCAS (Bureau of Civil Aviation Security), Vineet Gulati, Executive Director of AAI, Manoj Garg, Deputy Director of DGCA, Koraput MLA Taraprasad Bahinipati, Koraput Collector K Sudarshan Chakraborty, Koraput SP Kanwar Vishal Singh, SE of Jeypore (R&B) Circle Nabin Chandra Dora, and Tapan Panigrahi EE of Jeypore (R&B) participated in the meeting after inspection.
