SER targets Rs 10,500 cr in current fiscal

Rourkela, Jan 21: General Manager of South Eastern Railway Asish Kumar Goel today hoped that the railway will earn Rs 10, 500 crore revenue during the current financial year. 

He said that SER has achieved more than 15 per cent of the freight loading in comparison to last fiscal especially in Maoist infested areas of the division. 

He said that necessary measures are being taken to manage around 25 unmanned level crossings under CKP division. 

Works on laying a new line between Tata and Jharsuguda is under process to ease the passenger and good trains traffic in this section while work is also under process for another new railway line for Kiribur-Bimalagad – katasahi section under CKP division for freight loading in these areas which is minerally rich, Goel said. 

In the meantime around Rs 40 crore is being spent to improve various passengers amenities in a number of station under the division and maintain the railway tracks in wake of high volume of traffic, he said.
