Sharad Pawar To Continue As NCP Chief; Takes Back His Resignation

Bhubaneswar: May 5: Sharad Pawar retracted his resignation as national president of the NCP on Friday.

After resigning from the post of NCP President, Sharad Pawar set up a committee to select the next party president that included Ajit Pawar, Supriya Sule, former Union minister Parful Patel, and Chhagan Bhujbal. After thorough deliberations, the members unanimously rejected Sharad Pawar’s decision to resign.

Further, NCP leaders met with Sharad Pawar to convey the panel’s decision rejecting his resignation and hand over the resolution passed in a meeting. Finally, he agreed to take back his resignation.

Speaking regarding the decision in a press conference, NCP Supremo said, “I’m taking my decision back’.

He further added, “My supporters and voters have been with me for so many years, so I cannot reject their sentiments. I am moved by the love and the trust in me. I am revoking my decision to retire from the post’.
