Ship support complex of ICG inaugurated in Paradip

Paradip: The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) Friday achieved a significant milestone on Friday with the inauguration of a state-of-the-art Ship Support Complex in Paradip, Odisha.

This facility is set to bolster the ICG’s operational readiness and maritime infrastructure along the eastern seaboard.

The complex, inaugurated by the Commander of Coast Guard Region (North East), integrates critical units including the Coast Guard Store Depot, Refit and Production Team, and Coast Guard Afloat Support Unit.

The facility is designed to provide comprehensive support for the maintenance, repairs, and logistical needs of the Coast Guard’s expanding fleet.

In his inaugural address, the Commander highlighted Paradip’s strategic importance as a maritime hub. He emphasized the operational advantages offered by the new complex, stating that it will significantly enhance the Coast Guard’s capability to safeguard maritime safety and security in the region.

The establishment of the Ship Support Complex underscores the Coast Guard’s commitment to self-reliance and readiness to meet its operational mandates.

The move aligns with broader efforts to strengthen India’s maritime infrastructure in critical locations.
