Similipal National Park to open for tourists from Nov 1

Bhubaneswar, Oct 26: Keeping influx of tourists in mind, Government has decided to open Similipal National Park from November 1.

The Simlipal Wildlife Sanctuary, a tiger reserve situated in Mayurbhanj district, was closed for the tourists during the monsoon season.

The forest department has made elaborate arrangements for the tourist vehicles coming from across several routes to enter into the park premises. Also there is an accommodation for tourists for night halt inside the park. It can be booked in advance at the forest office in Similipal or the tourists can book online at www.similipal.org.

The national park is a treasure house of 1076 species of plants belonging to 102 families, 96 species of orchids, 42 species of mammals, 242 species of birds and 30 species of reptiles.
