Bhubaneswar, January 1: The Sisir Saras festival, an annual exhibition of rural products, will begin from Saturday here. The Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS) will organise the event.
The ORMAS has set a target of Rs 10 crore business.
Around 600 artisans from over 20 States and Union Territories will participate and display a wide range of rural products in nearly 280 stalls.
A preparatory meeting in this regard was held under the chairmanship of Panchayati Raj Minister Arun Sahoo. Department Secretary and ORMAS Chairman DK Singh attended the meeting laid emphasis on meticulous planning to make the fair successful.
Cane and bamboo craft, handloom and silk Sarees from North East, home decorative and furnishing items from Gujarat, Meenakari items from Rajasthan, woolen products and shawls from Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir, Kantha stitch and jute products from West Bengal, etc will be displayed in the 12-day long festival.
