Smart Bhubaneswar now the cleanest

Bhubaneswar, Feb 14: Close on the heels of Bhubaneswar topping the first list of Smart Cities in the country, the State capital has added another feather to its cap as it has been adjudged one of the cleanest cities in the country by Union Urban Development ministry under ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’.

According to sources, Bhubaneswar has emerged one the cleanest cities as per a sanitation survey “Swachha Savekshyan” carried out by the Quality Council of India (QCI) on behalf of the Ministry between January 1-January 20, across 75 cities across the country.

The honour will be conferred on the Capital city by the Union Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu at the National Media Centre, New Delhi.

Notably, on January 27, 2016, Bhubaneswar topped the list of first 20 cities to be turned into smart cities in India as announced by Union Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu in New Delhi.
