Rourkela, Dec 08: Rourkela Municipal Corporation has launched two Mobile APPs Smart Rourkela and Swachh Rourkela On the eve of preparedness for Smart City. Jual Oram, Union Minister Tribal Affairs and Subrat Kumar Tarai, MLA launched these mobile Apps on Dec 5 at the Office premises of Rourkela Municipal Corporation.
Swachh Rourkela Mobile APP enables RMC officials associated with garbage cleaning operations to report to the RMC Administrator and Commissioner regarding daily cleaning position of garbage collection sites. Through mobile app they can take the photograph of garbage collection sites and upload the photograph having Geo tag and time stamp. If no information is received by 11 AM, then a reminder is issued through the app to the concerned officials to clarify why the status has not been uploaded. There may be situations like vehicle breakdown, strike, accident etc where the garbage collection could not have been done is to be reported through the App. By 4 Pm an auto generated memo is issued to the defaulter sanitary official.
Smart Rourkela Moble App enables a common citizen to lodge grievance and monitor the status. This is also integrated with Grievance Monitoring System of Rourkela Municipality.
The features available in the APP are: Citizen’s corner (for lodging and monitoring grievance) , Helpline, City News, Events & Notices , Maps , Weather , Tour Rourkela –(A general tour e-guide of Rourkela), Beautify RMC, If there is any waste/dump lying in any ward, citizen’s can upload the image to RMC through this functionality. Henceforth, RMC can take an action as soon as possible to make RMC a cleaner and beautiful city.
The Mobile Apps are available in the portal of Rourkela Municipal Corporationhttp://rmc.nic.in for free download and to install in the Android based mobile phones.
The Mobile Apps are developed by Dr R N Behera, Sr Technical Director, NIC The inauguration ceremony was arranged by RMC and Co-ordinated by Sri Kandra Hembram, District Informatics Officer, NIC, Sundergarh.
Detail functionality of the APPs was demonstrated by Dr R N Behera, Sr. technical Director, NIC, and Bhubaneswar. At the outset K Sudarshan Chakravarthy,IAS, ADM and Administrator, RMC, Durga Prasad Mohapatra, Commissioner, RMC organised a Smart City Walk and spoke about tech vision of Smart City Rourkela. Other dignitaries present in the occasion were Dillip Ray, MLA, Rourkela, Sarada Prasad Nayak, Chairman, Rourkela Development Authority and other senior officers of District Administration.
