Koraput: With heavy cold wave in the area, the Lamtaput Block in Koraput district of Odisha has witnessed snow fall. The temperature has dropped below 5 degrees Celsius. Snow fall has been witnessed at multiple places of the block. The severe cold wave has made life difficult, creating problems for people to complete their daily chores in the morning.
The cold wave has gradually increased since the beginning of the New Year. The entire area is covered in fog till 10 am. Due to fog, nothing is visible beyond a distance of 10 meters of the road. It is very difficult to move vehicles on the road, while some vehicles are also the victims of accidents. To escape from the cold, the people of the area are setting fires. Even, animals are trying to escape from the cold.
The MeT Dept has predicted that fog is likely to be visible in the state for the next two days. On Monday, light to moderate fog will be seen in Khordha, Puri, Jagsinghpur, Kendrapara, Nayagarh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Sundergarh, Koraput and Cuttack. The Meteorological Department has also predicted that light to moderate fog may be visible in Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri, Khordha, Cuttack, Jagsinghpur, Kendrapara, Nayagarh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Sundergarh on Tuesday.
