Bhubaneswar, May 25: Students of SOA University continued their protest on the second day again by closing the main gates of the University over the fake recruitment drive by the University.
Notably, about 50 students of ITER college were selected for the Gurgaon-based Huawei company earlier during a campus placement in the college premises. But the students who had gone to join the job had to return empty handed, as the company authorities had denied of conducting any such recruitments drive, neither had given the charge to any HR consultancy.
In the meanwhile, the university registrar filed a police complaint against the corrupt consultancy firm last evening. In the regard, a case has been registered, said sources.
However the irate students, concerned about their career have stage a demonstration in front of the varsity. They have also demanded compensation for their losses.
With this the university has promised the students of paying Rs 20,000 stipend a month for joining them as teaching assistants for one year or till getting the job, whichever is earlier. The university has also promised them of free M.Tech and MBA from the same. However, the irate students unable to trust the authorities words have demanded a written agreements of all the promises.
On the other hand, it is also alleged that nearly 400 more students who have been given offer letters from various other companies like Mitsubishi, Intel and Honeywell, were also found fake.
Within all this going around, the university placement officer has also resigned from the post last evening on moral grounds.
