Bhubaneswar, Dec 15: Speaker of the Odisha Assembly today suspended the legislator Naba Das for seven days.
Yesterday, Jharsuguda legislator Naba Kishore Das caught on camera watching porn video on his smart phone while question answer session was going on in the Assembly.
This was captured in the camera by a television cameraperson of a private news channel.
The Speaker referred the matter to the Ethics Committee headed by Ranendra Pratap Swain to inquire into the allegations.
Notably, BJD MLA Pramila Mallik alleged on Jharsuguda MLA Naba Kishore Das watching porn video yesterday in State Assembly.
It is a shameful act. The Jharsuguda MLA should not come to the Assembly,”said Pramila Mallik while drawning attention to the Speaker Niranjan Pujari.
The Jharsuguda MLA had denied the charge against him. “It is a conspiracy hatched against me. I am not acquainted with Youtube. While surfing net, my finger accidentally touched the Youtube icon on my mobile screen,” said Das.
