A rush at a sacred place on Sunday morning, resulted in six fatalities and numerous critical injuries. A tragic incident occurred at the Mansa Devi Temple in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, which draws significant visitors to the temple during the sacred Shraavana season, .

While the precise cause of death remains undetermined, it is said that the substantial congregation, owing to the religious significance of the period, may have exacerbated the disorder.
The local authorities swiftly managed the rescue effort and evacuated the injured individuals to nearby hospitals.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami confirmed that rescue teams, including the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), have arrived at the scene. “SDRF, local police, and other rescue teams have reached the site and are engaged in relief and rescue operations. I am in constant contact with the local administration regarding this matter, and the situation is being closely monitored,” Dhami wrote on X.

Usually, during the Shravana season, hundreds of devotees attend this temple to offer their prayers; however, this year, an unexpectedly higher turnout may have contributed to the ensuing turmoil and stampede, surprising both temple management and local authorities.
