‘Starvation is a story of past in Odisha’: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik

Bhubaneswar: November 06: ‘Image of Odisha has changed and starvation is now a story of past’, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said with confidence while participating in an interactive session with senior journalist Prabhu Chawla at the concluding day of the fifth edition of the Odisha Literary Festival (OLF). Also, he informed, in last two years, one million Pucca Houses were constructed and in next two years, there will be no Kutcha houses. On a question related to future leader of Odisha, Patnaik replied, ‘People in their own judgement shall select their leader at the appropriate time and it is not necessary to groom a leader.’ Answering a question whether Naveen is interested in Centre Politics, Naveen replied, ‘He is happy with present job and responsibility.’ On BJD MP Bhartruhari Mahtab’s statement of a possible alliance with congress, the Chief Minister said, there is no question of alliance with Congress Party as BJD’s policy is to remain equidistance from both BJP and Congress.
