Bhubaneswar, Sept 1: Alleging that the sting operation is only a conspiracy to hamper their images, the four tainted BJD MLA’s who are booked for allegedly asking for bribe from an undercover person representing himself as an industrialist to help set up industries in their respective constituencies, approached the Kharvel nagar police station to file FIRs.
The four MLA’s filed the FIRs and alleged that they were invited by the person claiming to be a representative of an industry, for a discussion regarding setting up of an industry. He recorded the conversation and later blackmailed them with the recording for money. He released the recording to the media as the MLAs could not give the money which resulted in hampering of their images. The MLAs demanded stringent action against the person.
Notably, the video footage of the four MLAs, Hindol MLA Seemarani Nayak, Chhendipada MLA Susant Kumar Behera, Karanjia MLA Bijay Kumar Nayak and Bhawanipatna MLA Anam Nayak, which showed them demanding money for giving No Objection Certificate (NOC) and facilitating land acquisition in their constituencies, was aired on a local television channel on Monday.
