Students’ Elections: College property damaged and set on fire over cancelling of nomination in Anandapur, Odisha

Anandpur, Oct 3: After the nomination of a presidential candidate was cancelled on the ground that the aspirant had a crime history two days prior to the students’ union elections, irate students allegedly ransacked office of Anandpur College here in Keonjhar district and set the furniture and some office computers on fire. The college officials have called this act of vandalism as a pre-planned activity. All this information was given to the media by Principal of the college, Bijay Kumar Kar.

On the other hand, the supporters of presidential candidate, Rabindra Behera also staged a dharna ahead of the college gate. They alleged that the ruling party has hatched a conspiracy to cancel the nomination paper. Meanwhile, two platoons of forces have been deployed in the campus to avoid any further eventuality.
