Bhubaneswar, Sept 25: As the Students elections are approaching close, yesterday violent tension had been witnessed in Rama Devi Women’s university and also in Utkal University when two opposition groups went on to a scuffle after Congress backed election candidates posters were tore down allegedly by the rival group members.
This clash erupted between the two groups at the State’s first women university because a presidential candidate named Tanmayee was found having back papers. Tanmayee alleged that because the university authorities are backed by the ruling Biju Chhatra Janata Dal, the college authorities intentionally made this attempt. She also blamed that the BCJD District and Vice President, Amarjit Gouda and varsity’s Ex-President, Swasti Priya Das Nayak had persuaded the university staff to do such malicious things on the exam paper and it’s impossible to ascertain conclusion until and unless the evaluated exam sheets are handed over to the students. She further on went saying that her Roll number was also been taken by the ex-president which is supposed to be confidential.
Notably, everything was smooth for Tanmayee when she was in the BCJD party. All this trouble started when a larger section wanted her to contest the election independently, as informed by Tanmayee’s friend and supporter. All steps have been taken by the BCJD which would ensure that Tanmayee’s nomination is rejected. On the other hand, it’s stated that the sources in the university claims that there is nothing wrong in the evaluation process.
A similar scene was seen in the Utkal university when the students there gheraoed the office of the Vice-Chancellor at the University allegedly blaming that the poster of their candidate was torn by the rival members. They also alleged that no action has been initiated against the accused by the authorities.
