Cuttack: May 07: Tangi police on Saturday asked a group of six students and teachers to leave the madrasa, which was run by suspected Al-Qaeda operative Abdur Rehman. Students of neighbouring Jharkhand asked to return to their native place as the Institution was operating without due permission from State Wakf Board. Police officials said arrangements will be made for the group’s safe return to Jharkhand. 80 students were studying in the institution before it was closed.

Notably, Delhi police and the Twin City Commissionerate Police had arrested Rehman from his house in December 16 in a joint operation. He was picked up from his house in Satabatia village under Paschimakachha area of Jagatpur police limits.
