Bhuabaneswar, Oct 18: Extending help towards the deceased’s kin who died in the fire outbreak at Sum Hospital, Rs  5 lakh compensation to each bereaved family has been announced by Amit Banerjee, Vice Chanceller of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhann University on Tuesday.

Along with this, free treatment to all the injured patients has also been announced by Banerjee.

Manager, fire officer and two staff have been terminated for their delinquency in duty, said Banerjee.

It may be noted that three electricians have also been suspended by the hospital authorities today on the same grounds.

Besides, a control room, headed by Additional Director of National Health Mission (NHM) and Medical Education Joint Director has been opened by the Odisha Health Department today to supervise and monitor the treatment being given to the injured victims in the fire mishap at the hospital.

The health condition of the injured will be monitored on hourly basis through the control room.
