Sum Hospital Mishap: Treatment Expenses or Ex-gratia payment announced by SOA

Bhubaneswar, Oct 22: In accordance with the announcement made by the Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University following the unfortunate accident at the IMS and SUM Hospital, Bhubaneswar, on October 17, 2016, patients, who had been shifted to other private hospitals and have already been discharged, are being informed that the amount they have spent from their own resources towards their treatment will be reimbursed by the University subject to fulfillment of requisite identification and verification procedures. For those still in the hospital, the funds will be directly transferred to the concerned hospital after due identification and verification.

The patient will also have to swear an affidavit to the effect that he/she had not received reimbursement from any other source towards his/her treatment during the period.

The patient shall have to contact Ms. Dharashree Mohanty (Tel: 0674-6003132) with his/her identity proof for ascertaining that he/she had been admitted into the IMS and SUM Hospital  and all relevant treatment records at the hospital where they had been shifted along with the bills. The payment shall be executed once the verification process is over.

As regards the patients who lost their lives in the accident, the procedures shall be carried out upon availability of the essential documents and postmortem reports.
