Bhubaneswar: May 15: The world famous Sun Temple at Konark opened to the public on Tuesday. Konark Sun Temple was shut since May 3, the day Cyclonic Storm Fani hit the coastal district Puri.
The normal life in Konark and nearby localities is yet to be restored due to huge damage caused by cyclonic storm.
A team of Archaeological Survey of India visited the Temple on Friday and found that the cyclone had not caused any structural damage to the Temple.
It is to be noted here, since the day of cyclone, tourist inflow to Puri and Konark has been badly affected as the basic facilities like power, water supply and telecommunication are yet to be restored fully.
