Bhubaneswar, July 27: The bail plea of suspended Tripura cadre IPS officer Joydeep Nayak was rejected by the vigilance special court today. The court allowed the vigilance to take him on remand for three days on Wednesday morning and to produce him in the court on July 30.

To question Nayak over his alleged involvement in the Rs 88 lakh scam, the vigilance directorate had applied for a four-day remand of Nayak. But the court granted a remand period of three days instead. A senior vigilance official said that they would utilize these three days remand time to the fullest and would try to get maximum information about the scam from Nayak.
