Bhubaneswar, Apr 3: In a shocking incident, Chairman of the multi-crore chit fund scam organisation Swastik India, Ranjan Das was allegedly attacked by some inmates inside the Jharpada Jail. Das who has been arrested for the chit fund scam, was attacked by one Biranchi Nayak from Jatni, alleges Ranjan’s wife Monalisa in a letter to the ADG of the prison. Monalisa in the letter said, that Mr. Das was attacked by Nayak last month and the accused also abused him bad languages. She has also requested for security for her husband, said source.
Though after complaining, there has not been any action taken by the laxmi Sagar police, she took the matter to the CBI court.
Notably, Das was arrested in 2014 by the Central agency for charges of money laundering on him. Later it was also found that, he had close links with the BJD suspended MLA Pravat Tripathy, who is also involved with the AT chit fund scam.
