Bhubaneswar, Jan 8: The three-day long art exhibition cum camp aimed at honing the creative talent of budding artists while providing a platform for them to interact with senior artists who filled the ambience with colours on canvas, hosted at Lalit kala Academy,Regional Centre ,Bhubaneswar concluded on Thursday.
Odisha Excise and Cooperation Minister Damodar Rout graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Among the esteemed guests present on the occasion were Jatin Das, renowned artist, Arun Misra, Vice-President, Project Gopalpur, MD Tata Steel SEZ. Chanakya Choudhary, Group Director Corporate Communications and Regulatory Affairs, Tata Steel, Ruchi Narendran, wife of T V Narendran, MD, Tata Steel, India and South-East Asia and others.
Damodar Rout appealed to the artists for preserving the tradition of excellence in art and culture of this great land. He also appreciated the efforts of Tata Steel in providing a congenial platform for the promotion of art by supporting such exhibition and camps.
Addressing the artists and the art lovers, Narendran, spoke highly about artistic grandeur of Odisha and promised continued support of Tata Steel to such initiatives in the state in future.
Arun Misra reiterated the company’s longstanding commitment for strengthening the rich cultural tradition of the state through various initiatives including support to artists.
Sixteen renowned artists of India participated in the event to showcase their masterpiece in the camp. The highlights of the camp included workshop for art students, interaction with artists. Besides, school children chosen from across the state through Tata Steel Inter-School Art Competition participated in the camp and learned from the masters and showcasing their talents.
The zonal competition was held at eight locations in different parts of Odisha. Nineteen selected students from the zonal rounds participated in this event and were felicitated by Jatin Das and Chanakya Chaudhary.
Apart from this, 50 students of art colleges of Odisha have also participated in an art competition being organized on the occasion.
