Bhubaneswar, June 8: Senior BJD leader and Lok Sabha MP Tathagat Satpathy today has put another badge to his collar by stating his own party leaders as thieves. During a programme at Dhenkanal, today, Satpathy stated that congress leaders are thieves, while BJP is competing with them, but however, BJD is also no less.
He also added that recently CM Patnaik had removed four such thieves from the party including BJD vice president and former minister Debi Prasad Mishra.
However, stating rubbishing Tathagat’s remarks BJD spokesperson Prashant Nanda said that his views are completely personal. People who have quit the cabinet have given more important responsibilities of the party.
On the other hand, congress leader and Opposition Chief Whip Tara Prasad Bahinipati has said that Congress has brought independence and Tathagat shouldn’t forget that his Mother Nandini Satpathy was also the CM of Odisha from Congress.
Meanwhile, CM Naveen Patnaik after getting informed about the incident has termed Tathagat’s statement as wrong and has also demanded an explanation from him. He also stated, “Tathagat’s statement of removing thieves from party was not at all right. Those who have resigned from the cabinet have been given important party responsibilities”.
After complains from Debi Mishra and other BJD leaders rained on Naveen earlier this morning, the later has sought a detail explanation from Tathagat asking, on what grounds has he stated so.
