Bhubaneswar, Mar 10: In the wee hours of today, a teenager’s body was recovered from the Mahanadi river near Rahama here. The name of the teenager is said to bve Souri Rout aged 20.
Based on reports Souri had gone near the Mahanadi ghat called the Ghosalpur ghat with one of his friend, Siddhu Palai yesterday and since then they went missing as they were swept along the strong current of the river when they both were taking a bath at around 11 am. Two other friends had aslo accompanied them when the incident took place. Though a massive search operation was then launched by local police and rescue team of the fire services, the missing boys could not be traced till late evening yesterday. As a result the locals blocked the Cuttack-Paradip roas near Rahama.
