Telecom Minster in Lok Sabha today: Wi-Fi services in all gram panchayats under the Bharat Net project has begun

New Delhi/Bhubaneswar, Mar 15: Today Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Telecom Manoj Sinha replied to a query of Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda in the Lok Sabha saying that the facilitation of Wi-Fi services in all gram panchayats of the country under the Bharat Net project has begun. He also informed that the necessary funds have been sanctioned by the Finance Ministry for the same. He also went onto say that minimum two hotspots will be provided in the panchayats where fibre optic networks have been laid by March-end in the first phase.

On the other hand, BJD MP thanked Sinha for the decision taken by the Telecom Ministry and he also wanted to know when the last mile WiFi connectivity would be available in the country.
