Tension prevails in Dhamra Port as three labourers killed in coal heap collapse:

Bhadrak: August 15: Three labourers were killed and three were critically injured in a major mishap as coal heap collapsed inside the premises of Dhamra Port Company Ltd (DPCL). Following the incident, tension prevailed on the premises and the labourers went on rampage inside the Port. Port office, a four wheeler and vehicles parked inside the Port were set on fire by agitators. As said, this incident has happened when few labourers were engaged in loading activities and the coal heap collapsed. Three injured persons were shifted to the hospital.

In a Press release, the Port Authority said, ‘We at Adani would like to reiterate that we follow the highest and strictest standards of health and safety. The safety of our thousands of employees and contractual labourers is Adani’s top-most priority and we have a well-planned safety training programme for our employees and those of contractors as well. We will investigate this matter fully and find out the exact reasons of this unfortunate accident. We are fully cooperating with the authorities too’.
