Kabul, August 26: In a shocking news, from the war-torn country, an alleged Terrorist, Mullah Abdul Qayyum Zakir was appointed on the interim defence minister of Afghanistan on 24th August, as per sources and Wikipedia.
With the Taliban take over of Afghanistan, this military organisation has now been forming its government in the centre. The group has made alleged terrorist Mullah Abdul Qayyum Zakir as their interim Defence Minister, while Haji Mohammad Idris will head the Da Afghanistan bank (DAB), said Taliban spokesperson in a recent interview.
Zakir who surrendered to the United States Of America In Mazar, Afghanistan was kept in the Guantanamo Bay Prison detainment camps in Cuba and after transfer to Afghanistan in 2007, was released by the States in 2008.
Notably, Zakir, the Terrorist appointed Defence Minister of Afghanistan, had joined the Taliban in 1997. After Mullah Nematullah was killed in the Afghan civil war, Zakir took the charge of his group as the commander. During Taliban rule in the 1990s, Zakir who held the position of deputy commander, was also made the minister of defence for a short period.
