Paralakhemundi, Aug 8: Yesterday, the security personnel redeemed a tiffin bomb from a roadside near Telengapada forest under the Adaba police limits in Gajapati district.

A team of Adaba police along with the District Voluntary Force (DVF) had carried out a combined operation in Telengapada forest area from July 28 to August 3 to gain information about the ruinous plans of the Maoists during the Martyr’s Week. It was during this operation that the team under the Paniganda panchayat at about 7 AM on Sunday noticed an anthill on the roadside in the forest. Suspeciously the security personnel removed the mound and found a tiffin bomb of about 40 kgs of explosives and immediately informed the district Superintendent of Police, following which a bomb disposal squad sent from the district police headquarters reached the area and diffused the bomb.

It’s been suspected that the Maoist had fixed the bomb to attack the security personnel. Thus now the combing operation in the area has become stricter and is conducted intensely.
