Bhubaneswar, Jan 4: Enumeration of tigers in the State will be conducted for six days from February 5 to 10.

The census would be done by Wildlife Wing.

The National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) had last year counted tigers in the State, showing a decline in the number form 32 in 2010 to 28 in 2014.

There were 45 tigers in Odisha in 2006. The enumeration  would be conducted in all forest divisions and tiger reserves of Similipal and Satkosia. For this, as many as 172 forest officers and staffs have already been trained, said Chief Wildlife Warden SS Srivastava.

While the tiger census will be held from February 5 to 10, dolphin census across coastal divisions will be conducted on February 12, said official sources.
