Tigress Zeenat found in West Bengal

Mayurbhanj: Tigress Zeenat who was brought to Similipal Tiger Reserve has gone to West Bengal instead of returning to Similipal. She was brought to Similipal as a part of the tiger exchange program.

On Friday morning she was seen in Belpahada range of Jhadagram district of West Bengal. In the evening she went to the Simulapal forests of West Bengal. A high alert has been issued in that area. However, the authorities of the Similipal tiger reserve has not issued any statement.

According to information, on December 10, she had walked to Jharkhand from Similipal reserve. On December 17, she was seen hunting a buffalo in the Rajabasa jungles near Chakulia. After receiving the information, a quick response team of the forest department of West Bengal has been following it.

An expert team is also ready to tranquilise it if it moves towards human habitations after Zeenat was spotted in West Bengal. The whole of Jhadagram district of West Bengal is under the high alert zone. On November 15, Zeenat had been brought to Similipal Tiger Reserve.
