Puri, Sep 12: In a tragic incident, a tourist named Sukadev Khatal, resident of West Bengal, died due to drowning in the sea at Puri on Sunday.
As per the information, the incident happened near Swargadwara. A high tide swept him away while he was bathing in the sea. After noticing this, his friends raised an alarm and the life guard rescued him.
While he was being taken to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), he was conscious and complained of angina. However, after examining him at the hospital, the doctors declared him dead.
While the dead body has been kept in the mortuary, post-mortem will be conducted after the relatives of the deceased arrive here.
On the other hand, Sea Beach police have registered an unnatural death case for the incident.
