Twin-City To Witness Heavy Rainfall
Though, as per the IMD report, Cyclone Jawad has weakened further and there is no chances of Cyclone, but parts of State shall witness heavy rainfall due to depression. Metrological Centre, Bhubaneswar, has predicted heavy rainfall in some parts of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack City Area.
As said by Met Centre, ‘Twin-City is very likely to witness few intense spells (2-3 cm/Hr) of rain besides gusty surface wind (30-40 kmph) in some parts’.
An ‘Orange warning’ for heavy rainfall has been issued for the twin- city Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.
Due to heavy rain and wind speed of 30-40 kmph, the possible impact will be:
-Waterlogging in low-lying areas and closure of underpass
-Occasional reduction in visibility during intense spell of rain
-Disruption of traffic due to waterlogging in roads leading to increased travel time.
-Breaking of tree branches
