Kandhamal, Dec 12: In a brutal incident, eight-month-old twin child on Saturday night were tainted with hot iron bars in the Kandhamal district of Odisha.
Nabin and Bharati Digal’s children of Baliguda block in the tribal dominated district, were frequently suffering from loose motion and stomach pain. Disturbed with her children’s illness, Bharati took suggestions from a neighboring woman who suggested her to taint the children with hot iron rods to cure it. While Nabin was out of home on Saturday night, Bharati tainted her children at about 10 places on each ones body.
Early next morning when they woke up but the baby girl did not, was found dead.
The boy however was screaming with pain and was rushed to the Barakhama Community health center and was later shifted to the Bliguda CHC on Sunday after his health condition deteriorated.
As of now the conditions of the boy is said to be stable, said sources.
