Puri: May 03: In a tragic mishap today, two tourists from West Bengal drowned while bathing in the sea in Puri, Odisha. The incident was reported from the sectors 12 and 13 bathing zones. The identities of the deceased remain unknown.
According to sources, the deceased, along with three other tourists, arrived in Puri on Tuesday night and went for a morning swim in the sea. The two were swept away by the current while bathing, while the others narrowly escaped.
While they were all rescued and taken to the hospital, two of them were declared dead upon arrival. The remaining victims, according to official sources, are receiving treatment and are in critical condition.
