UCO Bank loot case: dacoity was pre-planned in the form of blueprint: Police Comm

Bhubaneswar, Nov 18: Yesterday the Commissionerate Police came up with the modus operandi behind the dacoity in UCO Bank’s Bapuji Nagar branch that took place on Sept 28.

Police Commissioner YB Khurania said that during the interrogation of Bijay Shah and Bhagabat Thakur, the two accused in the loot case, the armed officials have cracked in getting the details of the dacoity. The two had been arrested from Begusarai and Vaishali districts of Bihar on Wednesday and brought here yesterday on transit remand. He further stated that a blueprint was made over a month ago before the loot could happen. In order to have a smooth robbery, the gang members had also a visit to the bank and its nearby area almost thrice. As per the blueprint plan, on Sept 28, the gang arrived in the morning at Baramunda in a truck from Bihar loaded with two bikes. Later they unloaded the two bikes and went to the bank. After committing the robbery, they returned to Baramunda and went back to Bihar in the truck loading two bikes in it. Khurannia stated that the police is on the search of the truck driver, Mohan who is said to be the, mastermind of the gang.

Besides, police is also investigating into the gun and bullets that were used during the dacoity. The two arrested dacoits are being interrogated by the DCP, Special Squad officials and investigating officers.
